Understanding Containers

If you use sites, each container need to be assigned to a site. if not Site statistics will not be correct. If your organization does not use Site this is not relevant for you Important Each container needs to have a unique ID. The container ID should not be changed. If you have a site with ID GT002 and you have one container, we suggest you give the container on this site the ID GT002. If you add a 2nd container, you give it the ID GT002-2. In this way its easy to identify the container and where it belongs. Each organization can though make their own system as long as you dont risk making duplicates

1. Add container to a site.

The video below talks about adding the 2nd container to a site, but the process is the same when adding the first container on a site. First you need to create the SITE with all the parameters, address etc and save. Then you have to go to Manage Container and create a new container. Container name is the same as the Site and the ID is as explained above or in the video below.

2. Lost site. What to do

When you loose a site there are 2 steps. Fist go to Manage Sites. Find the site. Then you need to unlink the container/s on this site. When done, you get the delete button. Click Delete. The Site has been deleted. If you go into Manage Containers, and search on the Site name/Container name, you will see its still there but deactivated. Best Practice is to delete it. Its now available under Managed Deleted Containers
